Brion Memorial Airport
W28964 Prairie Road W, Strum
"Brion Field was originally called Viking Field. It was renamed Brion in memory of "Bud" Brion who lost his life in a ultra light accident.
At one time it was a municipal airport, but has since become a private airport owned and operated by the Viking Flying Club. Mike Berg, owner of this plane, is president of the club. The original length of the field was 1100 feet, but has been increased in past years to about 2300 feet. There are about 8 aircraft based at the field. Mike owns two, a 1966 Piper Cherokee and the 1946 Aeronca Champ which he rebuilt. There are 15-20 members of the Flying Club and they put on a pancake breakfast in June every year.
During the summer months, a fair amount of transient traffic stops for local visits. Last summer a group flew in from Milwaukee for noon lunch at the Norke Nook in Osseo."
